The NBA announced today that Denver Nuggets rookie Jusuf Nurkic has been named to the NBA All Rookie 2nd team. During his rookie campaign Nurkic appeared in 62 game, starting 27. He averaged 6.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.10 blocks in 17.8 minutes of play per game.
When Nurkic’s play time increased so did his stats. When he saw 20 or more minutes of floor time he averaged 10 points, grabbed 8.5 rebounds, had 1.27 steals and had 1.73 blocks.
Nurkic is the first Nuggets rookie to be named to an All-Rookie team since Kenneth Faried was named First Team in 2012. The last Nuggets rookie to be named to the second team was James Posey in 2002.
