After being ruled out late in the third quarter of the Week 12 matchup against the Oakland Raiders, Paxton Lynch’s injury has been declared a high ankle sprain.
Per head coach Vance Joseph via AM 760, Lynch will not be available for 2-4 weeks. Trevor Siemian will be the starting quarterback starting Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins.
Lynch left the game in the third quarter after sustaining a non-contact injury to his ankle. He was ruled out immediately and backup Siemian finished the game. Lynch was 9-for-14 for 41 yards, an interception and a rating of 38.4 before his exit. The Broncos were down 21-0 when he left; Siemian led the Broncos to a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Siemian was 3-4 as a starter this season over the first seven games before Brock Osweiler took over in Week 9 following a three-game losing streak. That streak now sits at seven games, with Osweiler going 0-3 as a starter and Lynch being the quarterback of record in Sunday’s loss to Oakland.
