Peyton Manning earns a big Super Bowl bonus

NFL Network wants to hire Peyton Manning

The “Sheriff” gets to ride off into the sunset with all of his loot following the Denver Broncos victory in Super Bowl 50.

The win earned Peyton Manning a cool $2 million in incentives as is stipulated in his contract. He also earned $2 million for winning the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots.

Before the start of the season, Manning’s contract was restructured and his pay was reduced by $4 million this year. The new contract did, however, offer him the chance to make up the money in incentives.

He recouped the first $2 million when he led the team to victory over the Patriots, and the Super Bowl win brought Manning’s salary back up to $19 million, the same amount he would have made if his contract was never restructured.

Though Manning isn’t the highest paid quarterback in the NFL, he does make the most money off the field. According to Forbes.com, his deals with Nike, Buick, DirecTV, Gatorade, Nationwide and Papa Johns earn $12 million a year.
