Jamal Murray has taken his game to another level to account for the absence of Nikola Jokic. Averaging over 30 points and nearly 11 assists per game in January, Murray’s assumption of responsibility for the Denver Nuggets has happened at the perfect time.
The Nuggets are currently 6-3 in their last nine games, and Murray is one of the biggest reasons why. His clutch play, isolation skills, court vision, and shotmaking have put the Nuggets in great positions consistently. He’s doing a lot of what Jokic does and making the game easier for the rest of the Nuggets roster.
On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn goes over the Denver Nuggets hard fought win vs the Dallas Mavericks on a back-to-back. He credits Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Peyton Watson, and others before looking closer at Jamal Murray’s All-Star leap.
