Rockies pitchers and catchers report today, with their first workout scheduled for Wednesday. Sorry – this audio content is no longer available. examine the four catchers on the 40-man roster and look at moves Colorado could still make to shore up the position.
The Rockies made an early move in free agency to bring back veteran Chris Iannetta, who started his career in Colorado, but the market has since gone cold, leaving last year’s trade deadline acquisition, Jonathan Lucroy, still available.
Does Jeff Bridich have enough in the bank to make a run at Lucroy? Or will he be content with Iannetta as the No. 1 and Tony Wolters backing him up? Wolters can fill another important role — that of the departed Alexi Amarista — but the price tag for Lucroy puts the Rockies in a tricky spot.
Other veterans are available, and the Rockies are still hoping for a breakout spring from Tom Murphy.
Baseball is back. Casey and Shawn cover all of that and more in the podcast below.
