Rapids suffer first road loss of 2015

It’s hard to believe that a team occupying last place in MLS’s Western Conference would be the last team in the league to suffer a road loss, but that was the case for the Colorado Rapids this season. Despite having earned just three wins in the first three months of 2015, Colorado had managed to avoid a road loss until their match with Seattle Wednesday night when they fell 1-0 at Century Link Field.

The loss ran Colorado’s record to 2-7-3, good for last place in the Western Conference, three points behind Portland in the ninth spot.

Seattle’s Marco Pappa tallied the only score of the match at the 15 minute mark when Jared Watts sent a clearance to the corner. Pappa collected, cut inside and curled a shot past Clint Irwin.

Juan Ramirez came in as a substitution in the second half and had the Rapids’ best scoring chance, but had his shot deflected wide.
