After a lull of more than a week to start the free agency period, the Nuggets are now hard at work solidifying their roster for 2015-16 and beyond, as RealGM is reporting that they have agreed in principle to a multi-year deal with point guard Jameer Nelson.
Free agent Jameer Nelson has an agreement in principle on a new three-year contract with the Denver Nuggets, league sources tell RealGM.

Nelson had previously opted out of a player option on his contract with the Nuggets earlier this year. Details of the new deal have not yet surfaced, other than its length, at this time.
The ten-year NBA veteran played in 34 games for Denver last year, averaging just under 10 points per game. Nelson came to Denver from Boston in January in exchange for Nate Robinson; he started the year with Dallas after signing a multi-year deal in the offseason and was shipped to Boston mid-season.
Nelson’s contract is the second signing in three days for the Nuggets. Denver extended Wilson Chandler on Saturday.
The signing indicates that Denver may be close to moving on from point guard Ty Lawson, as they are already very high on newly drafted point guard Emmanuel Mudiay.
