When it comes to college sports, we tend to forget that these players are technically student-athletes, especially after those athletes leave the confines of the NCAA, graduate to the pros and start making lottery-sized checks.
Fans don’t care what their favorite players studied in college; they care who their position coach was and whether they’re ready to go up against stiffer competition.
And while a good deal of “student-athletes” likely share that opinion, there are plenty who do value their time as students, including the Broncos new quarterback, Paxton Lynch.
This weekend, the University of Memphis will be holding their commencement ceremony, and Lynch will make a point to be there.

Even if Lynch is about to sign a multi-million dollar contract that should provide him with all the resources he should ever need to live a comfortable life, graduating from college is still an important achievement, and the Broncos are right to recognize that.
