ESPN’s Zach Lowe and Marc Stein took the time to talk a little bit of Denver Nuggets basketball in their latest podcast, saying that aside from the Boston Celtics, the Nuggets are the team appearing most often in trade talks.
Lowe went on to further explain that Kenneth Faried is the man the Nuggets are looking to unload in a deal prior to the season.
“(I’m hearing) Denver is trying to get off [Kenneth] Faried, which I think they are, but if they have to move a decent wing to get off Faried and get something good in return, they’ve got a lot of wings now — young ones, mid-career ones — take your pick.”
This shouldn’t be news to Nuggets fans, as for about two years now Faried’s name has been thrown out in just about every trade scenario the Nuggets have been involved in.
The Nuggets flirted with the Atlanta Hawks earlier in the offseason about a possible Faried-Paul Millsap swap, but obviously nothing came to be.
Personally, I think it’s only a matter of time before a deal is worked to ship Faried out of the Mile High City, as it seems a breakup is evident.
The Nuggets are aggressive in their pursuit to make this team a winning one and seem to have come to grips that Faried is the odd man out in the winning formula they are attempting to build.
Faried’s name and the Nuggets organization will appear in major trade talks for the remainder of the offseason, so keep your ears open.
