With the trade deadline looming, everyone has their eyes set on All-Star Carlos Gonzalez and his future with the Colorado Rockies, but according to Jon Morosi of the MLB Network, it could be his fellow outfielder, Charlie Blackmon, first on the trade block.
#Nats showing interest in #Rockies CF Charlie Blackmon, sources say. Nats 30th in leadoff OPS, 28th in CF OPS; Blackmon a good fit. @MLB

Blackmon, 29, is in the midst of his best offensive season in the majors, hitting .305 with 12 home runs and 43 RBIs.
And when it comes to leadoff hitters, you’ll be hard-pressed to find many better than Blackmon, as he’s inside the top five for hits, home runs, RBIs, runs and average amongst all leadoff hitters.
As Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com details, though, that may be reason enough for the Rockies to simply keep their talented outfielder.
To follow @jonmorosi about #Nationals’ interest in Blackmon: WAS has shown past interest as well. Question is whether #Rockies will sell.

#Rockies seven back in WC, but 3-1 since ASG vs. #Braves, #Rays with next six against those teams. Blackmon two more years of control.

The Rockies likely wouldn’t be able to snatch the same type of haul they would in a CarGo trade, but if they’re going to get rid of Blackmon, they better be getting a lot in return.
We’ll see if they pull the trigger.
