In 2007, the Colorado Rockies finished the regular season by winning 14 of 15 games to leap from fourth place in the NL West into what would eventually become their first and only World Series appearance. Mile High Sports celebrates the anniversary of ‘Rocktober’ by recapping each game from each of those days ten years ago.

ROCKIES 9, DODGERS 7
A back-and-forth affair saw 16 runs scored between the Rockies and the Dodgers. The Rockies put up two runs in the ninth and held off the Dodgers to secure a 9-7 victory and their ninth win in a row.
Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and first baseball Todd Helton combined for four RBIs, and second baseman Kazuo Matsui, right fielder Brad Hawpe, third basemen Jamey Carroll and center fielder Ryan Spilborghs each brought home a run.
Starter Ubaldo Jimenez only went four innings, giving up nine hits and five runs. The relievers — Ryan Speier, Matt Herges, Brian Fuentes and Manny Corpas — combined to give up only three hits and two runs for the remainder of the game.
The Rockies secured the win in the top of the ninth inning, when Spilborghs doubled to right field, scoring catcher Yorvit Torrealba. Carroll followed up with a single to right field, bringing home Spilborghs.
The San Diego Padres had lost to the San Francisco Giants during the Rockies’ off-day one day prior. When combined with this win over the Dodgers, the Rockies now found themselves only one game out of the NL’s wild-card spot.
