The Denver Broncos are making moves on Monday morning, signing former Pro Bowler Henry Melton.
Melton, who was selected in the fourth round by the Chicago Bears back in 2009, spent his first five seasons in Chicago, starting 32 games and earning a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2012. He’s spent the last two seasons in Dallas (2014) and Tampa Bay (2015).
Through his first seven seasons, Melton has totaled 22.5 sacks, seven pass deflections and 130 total tackles, proving to be a pass rushing force from the inside.
Melton has played mainly inside as a defensive tackle during his career, and could see time in place of Sylvester Williams in Wade Phillip’s 3-4 defense, but there’s a chance he could lineup next to Williams at defensive end in some scenarios, especially with Vance Walker officially being placed on injured reserve.
