It was a wildly difficult, intense game, but the Denver Nuggets rose to the challenge in their Game 1 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Denver shot just 9-of-27 from three-point range against an elite Clippers defense that forced Denver into uncomfortable situations. Kawhi Leonard and James Harden looked fantastic for most of the game. Jamal Murray struggled to make shots. Michael Porter Jr. couldn’t stay on the court.

And yet, Denver won.

The Nuggets should feel good about where they are after the first game of this series. They will have to be better going forward. For now though, it was a strong win.

On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn breaks down the incredible 112-110 overtime win for the Denver Nuggets over the Los Angeles Clippers to take Game 1 of the playoff series. Nikola Jokic had a near triple-double, Jamal Murray struggled but made some big shots, and Russell Westbrook made huge plays in the clutch.

Ryan discusses the win, the Nuggets defense, the benching of Michael Porter Jr., and what to expect next.
