The Colorado Rockies are back in the friendly, spacious confines of Coors Field; a place where they’ve only played roughly one-third of their games until this current homestead began.

The Rockies are 4-2 thus far in that homestead, with three games left to play against the rapidly gaining Dodgers, who currently sit only 3 1/2 games behind the first-place Rockies.

Host Shawn Drotar (Host, “Mornings at 5280′“) and guest Ronnie Kohrt (Mile High Sports’ Sorry – this audio content is no longer available. podcast) take a look at the Rockies’ offense, which has been heating up throughout May… just like Ronnie said it would. If the Rockies can keep warming up their bats, how good can this offense really be?

Even though the Rockies are clicking, there’s still one significant part that’s not in sync – starting pitcher Jon Gray, who has struggled mightily through May and seems to be getting worse instead of better.

Is Gray trying too hard, or not hard enough? Shawn and Ronnie discuss Gray’s recent approach and the challenges he’s been able to overcome. The two have vastly different solutions to the problem, and with the NL West tightening up, how long can the Rockies afford to wait?
