It’s a day that many have been speculated would be coming. Now, it looks like it is on the immediate horizon. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Todd Archer, the Dallas Cowboys will be releasing quarterback Tony Romo on Thursday.
Cowboys are releasing Tony Romo on Thursday, sources tell @toddarcher and me.

As Schefter states, both the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans are expected to be interested. NFL Insider Benjamin Allbright however, says that an agreement between Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Romo could limit his potential destinations.

Romo played in only one game for the Cowboys last season, completing 3-of-4 passes for 29 yards and a touchdown. The 36-year-old has struggled to stay on the field due to injuries in recent years, but has been effective when he played. He has a career quarterback rating of 97.1.
