Travis Pastrana: “The guys are on point” as Nitro Circus hits Denver

Nitro Circus Live Australian Tour 2014

Believe it or not, not every kid dreams of being Peyton Manning or Nolan Arenado.

Take Josh Dover, host of BSN Denver Sports Desk on Mile High Sports AM 1340. As a child, he dreamed of being a professional skateboarder.

Travis Pastrana, whose list of motorsports accolades runs about as long as Manning’s NFL achievements, was cut from the same cloth.

And while Dover’s path to action sports fame ended some years ago, Pastrana and his self-described “bunch of ADHD kids who weren’t the best at team sports,” are brining a sporting event to Denver on Nov. 17 that will be just as jaw-dropping as a 64-yard touchdown pass against the blitz or a one-handed grab and off-balance throw to punch out a speedy left-handed batter.

Nitro Circus Live is an action sports collective featuring some of the best in the world at motocross, BMX, skateboarding, inline, wheelchair, scooters, ski… you get the point. The show is quite literally filled with fireworks, not to mention some of the gutsiest and most-athletic acts man can perform, and set to a rocking soundtrack.

Pastrana joined Dover on Wednesday to talk about the upcoming Denver performance, which is one of the final shows on the worldwide tour.

Denver fans are in for a big show, says Pastrana, because “the guys are on point and there aren’t too many injuries.” He also said fans can expect lots of crowd interaction and, of course, lots of crashes.

Just how big is Nitro Circus Live? The action sports spectacle has been drawing huge audiences around the world, including an audience of more than 50,000 at a soccer stadium in South Africa.

Fans in Denver can expect a much more intimate experience at Pepsi Center, which seats approximately 18,000. Tickets are still available at altitudetickets.com.
