The Denver Broncos lost a pass-rushing social media maven named DeMarcus in the offseason, so they added one in the draft. Following DeMarcus Ware’s retirement, the Broncos selected DeMarcus Walker with the No. 51 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. Both DeMarcuses are very active on Twitter, so it’s a good time to introduce you to @livinglegend_44.
On the field, Walker is a pass-rusher who can cover the field and run stop, logging 21.5 tackles and 16 sacks in 2016 for the Florida State Seminoles. He’s a versatile, three-down player who can play a variety of techniques. He figures to be a lethal addition to Denver’s defensive front seven.
On Twitter, he’s big on posting family photos and talking football. This tweet from mid-april ought to have his coaches excited…
I love watching film

Shortly after the pick was announced, Walker took to Twitter to offer his thanks and his excitement about coming to Denver.
God is good. If I can make it, you can make it too. Hopefully I can keep #44 #Blessings #HardWork pic.twitter.com/8sCx0xtRtU

Bad news for Walker, the No. 44 is retired in Denver. Floyd Little (Denver’s top pick in 1967) had it retired on his way to Canton.
Walker was very motivated after the first round, sending this message to the teams and players that passed on him.
8 rushers got picked before me, PLEASE remember this!!

He soon retweeted a post of his own from last June, in which he gave props to Von Miller and cited his own motivation to become a (very rich) sack master.

If Walker can play at half the level of DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller, the Broncos got a great value with pick No. 51.
