Ty Sambrailo happy to stay in Colorado and contribute

Ty Sambrailo jumped over other possible offensive lineman in the draft and landed with the Denver Broncos at No. 59 overall.

The former Colorado State Ram is ready and willing to contribute at either guard or tackle for the Denver Broncos and is looking forward to playing in front of familiar fans in the NFL.

“Being in Colorado and being in that environment the last four and a half years just showed me how passionate a fan base it was and what a great team it would be to play for. I ‘m excited to come and be a contributor with the Denver Broncos,” he said immediately after being selected Friday.

After playing guard and mostly tackle in four seasons for the Rams Sambrailo represents a versatile lineman that will push all of the current offensive lineman on the roster, especially at right tackle and left guard.

“I think that at the end of the day the best five linemen are going to be on the field. I just want to compete at whatever that position will be to be a contributor and help this team win”

During his four years in Fort Collins he started 42 games at every position along the line except center.

As far as switching from protecting Garrett Grayson to Peyton Manning Sambrailo was very excited to learn from the future Hall of Famer.

“As a young player coming in the league there isn’t a lot of guys that you would put above him in terms of teaching. He’s someone that can kind of show you how to make it and last in the league. I think that protecting him and being part of this offense will be an incredible experience and I’m excited.”

The Broncos drafted several linemen last season, signed several free agent linemen and now add Sambrailo to all fight for arguably only three starting spots on the offensive line. The competition will immediately be something to watch closely.
