Top Picks for Miami vs. Indiana
It all comes down to this. Tonight, we’ll officially crown a national champion after Miami and Indiana duke it out in front of the entire country. Here’s a look at some of our favorite picks for today’s game.
Malachi Toney, Miami Hurricanes WR: Higher 0.5 rush + rec TDs I genuinely believe that Malachi Toney is the best football player in this game. The freshman receiver is a highlight reel magnet and has an incredible football IQ for such a young player. He’s also the perfect trick play guy, and Mario Cristobal and Co. have no reason to hide anything in the playbook anymore. If Miami is in the red zone, I’ll be watching No. 10.
Mark Fletcher, Miami Hurricanes RB: Higher 71.5 rushing yards Mark Fletcher is somehow still underrated in my opinion. The Miami running back has been moving different since the calendar flipped to December. He totaled 172 rushing yards against Texas A&M, 90 against Ohio State and 133 against Ole Miss. Indiana’s defense is great, but Miami’s offensive line is perhaps the best in the country and can contend with anyone. If Miami is going to win this one, if feels like Fletcher and that Miami O-Line will have to play a major role. Either way, Fletcher can definitely hit this total.
Fernando Mendoza, Indiana Hoosiers QB: Lower 223.5 passing yards This may seem like a weird pick, but it’s actually one of my more confident picks of this game. Mendoza and the Indiana offense has been so efficient that he can put up 5 touchdowns without eclipsing 200 yards passing. Mendoza didn’t exceed this number against Ohio State, Alabama and Oregon – and Miami’s defense is arguably better than all of them (though I understand the Ohio State argument.)
