Vance Joseph addresses expanded role for second-round draft pick

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph addressed the media Wednesday to discuss an array of topics on the team.

Rookie DeMarcus Walker was practicing on the defensive line, and the second-round pick — who was listed as a linebacker for much of the season, is now listed as a defensive end. This spring’s second-round draft pick from Florida State has recently been inactive for game day, but his activity on the defensive line may suggest an increased role moving forward.

“He’s always going to be a swing guy for us,” Joseph said. “As an outside-backer rusher, as an inside rusher — so absolutely, if we need him on game day, he would have to slide inside for us.”
