The Avalanche will be without their top rookie defenseman for the rest of Thursday’s contest against the Vancouver Canucks. Bowen Byram was injured late in the first period after taking an accidental elbow to the face from Canucks captain Bo Horvat.
Byram was a plus-2 in the first period and has recorded eight points in 11 games.
