It must be hard to shop for professional football players. They already have most everything, and anything they don’t have is bound to be really, really expensive. But for Von Miller, that didn’t deter his holiday spirit.
“I’m Santa Claus, I just accept that,” Miller said with a smile Thursday, via Jeff Legwold of ESPN.
For Christmas, Miller gave each and every one of his teammates a bottle of whiskey and some underwear. Why? Well, the underwear is important “because it increases blood flow to the area” and that “everybody can use some underwear for Christmas.”
And on each gift, Miller had a message for his teammates: “It’s an honor and a privilege to go out and play with you every Sunday,” followed by Miller’s signature below that.
Not only is Miller one of the best players on this Denver Broncos football team — if not the best — but he’s an integral part of their locker room and their locker room culture. And DeMarcus Ware made sure he knew how much Von was appreciated when he gifted him a brand new laptop.
“I just look at him and said, ‘I love you, man.’ … I didn’t expect that. I wasn’t expecting that at all,” Miller said.
Let’s just hope the Broncos have one more late present coming their way this Monday night.
