The players have voted and DeMarcus Ware appears on the “The Top 100 Players of 2015″ list once again. Ware landed at number 87, falling 31 spots from last year.
In the first three seasons of the league’s annual player-selected list, Ware was voted no lower than 12th. This year’s ranking marks the lowest ever for the four-time All-Pro and 2008 NFC Defensive Player of the Year.
Ware appeared in 16 games in his first season in Denver, starting 15 and totaling 37 tackles and 10 sacks in 2014.
Though his totals were down from his career average (47.9 tackles and 12.7 sacks), 2014 saw a nice rebound after an injury-shortened 2013 campaign with the Dallas Cowboys for the future Hall of Famer.
Ware is likely to see diminished playing time in 2015 with the addition of first round draft pick Shane Ray who figures to be part of a three man rotation for Denver along with perennial Pro Bowler Von Miller.
“The Top 100 Players of 2015” list resumes its countdown Wednesday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. MDT on NFL Network with players 80 -71.
