WATCH: Ichiro triples for the 3,000th hit of his career

Well, he did it! Japanese hitting maestro Ichiro Suzuki earned his 3,000th career hit in the top of the seventh inning of the Miami Marlins game versus the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

Ichiro is the 30th MLB player to join the prestigious 3,000 hit club.

Ichiro is the first Japanese player to join the club and is just the fourth non-American to reach 3,000 hits.

Rockies reliever Chris Rusin surrendered the historic hit.

After history was made, another MLB legend had the chance to congratulate Ichiro on the spot. Marlins hitting coach Barry Bonds, baseball’s all-time home run king, left the dugout to give Ichiro a hug.

Bonds finished his career 65 hits shy of 3,000.
