WATCH: Paxton Lynch throws his first NFL touchdown pass

The Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers headed into a weather delay in Tampa with 6:52 remaining in the game, which gave Broncos fans back in Denver plenty of time on rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch’s first NFL touchdown.

Lynch entered Sunday’s game after Trevor Siemian suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter. After leading the Broncos to field goals on his first two full drives, Lynch finally found paydirt on his fifth drive of the day.

A nine-play, 80-yard drive ended when Lynch found Emmanuel Sanders in the end zone for a five-yard touchdown pass.

Fittingly, Lynch’s first touchdown came on a play-action bootleg, one of the trademark plays in head coach Gary Kubiak’s offense.

Lynch had 59 passing touchdowns (to go with 17 rushing) in 38 starts at Memphis.
