It’s not very often that a trip to the Super Bowl comes down to one single play, but that’s exactly what happened to the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots on Sunday.
With 17 seconds left, Rob Gronkowski proved, once again, why he is a man amongst boys, pulling in a touchdown reception he had no business in catching. Now down two points, the Patriots were left with converting a two-point conversion to force overtime. And while the game wouldn’t have been “over,” heading into overtime, the momentum clearly would have been riding with New England.
Broncos Country would undoubtedly have been quaking in their boots had Tom Brady been gifted another chance.
But then the Broncos defense did exactly what they’ve been doing all year: They won the game.
So sorry for New England. They couldn't make the two point conversion. VIDEO – WATCH: 2-pont Conversion is NO GOOD https://t.co/qpD3JquoLS

Now, if you look closely, you’ll see just how close Tom Brady was to converting that two-point attempt. If he had just looked a little to his right, he would have seen Rob Gronkowski, one-on-one with Shiloh Keo, running towards the back corner of the end zone with a lot of green grass in front of him.
But Brady never had a chance to get to his second read, because DeMarcus Ware and Brandon Marshall were in Brady’s face from the moment the ball was snapped.
And with that play, we’re on to Carolina!
