Well, the time has come, Denver Nuggets fans. Today is the day a few ping pong balls make or break the future of the organization.
With that said, here are a few key points you need to know heading into the lottery:
— The Nuggs have never moved up in the lottery; they have either slid down or stayed the same.
— This is the 14th time the Nuggets will be in the lottery. Between those 14 times, they have slid eight times, and held their own the remaining five.
— The Nuggets have 6.1 percent chance of winning the lottery
— The Nuggets have a 21.8% chance of landing a top-three pick
— The Nuggs have their own pick, which is projected to be 9th, and also the rights to swap picks with the Knicks, which is projected to be 7th.
— The Nuggets have never had a top two pick; however, they have had the third-pick twice. The last time being in 2003 when they drafted Carmelo Anthony.
— Lottery pick aside, the Nuggs have draft picks galore, owning the 15th and 19th picks in the first round, along with the 51st and 56th in the second round picks. If the Nuggets want to move up or down in the draft, they should have the ammunition.
The balls are set to fall at 6 p.m. MST time.
