Game 2 looked a lot different than Game 1 — specifically on the defensive side for both the Avalanche and the Wild. But Colorado prevailed with a 5-2 win over Minnesota to go up 2-0 in the second round series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Avs had five different goal scorers — Martin Necas, Gabriel Landeskog, Nicolas Roy, Nathan MacKinnon and Valeri Nichushkin.

It was a team effort with four players having multipoint nights and outstanding helpers from Ross Colton and Nazem Kadri.
“Colts (Colton), he’s made an impact in the series, and it’s helped on the score sheet. In his defensive play and commitment. It’s been strong. He’s bought into what we’re trying to do here, and I know he cares,” head coach Jared Bednar said.
Scott Wedgewood improved his game with 29 saves in a physical and disciplined outing.
