WTPU: Avalanche fail to commit in loss to Blues

The Avalanche fell to the St. Louis Blues in a tight matchup at Ball Arena on Sunday.

It came down to the last minutes of the game with the teams locked in a 2-2 tie. But the Avalanche could not hold off Robert Thomas, who scored all three goals for St. Louis.

“They get the odd man rush on the second one, odd man rush on the third one late in the game, can’t happen … we created some really good rush chances too … I don’t like trading those rush chances. We got to be more committed to it,” head coach Jared Bednar said after the game.

Brent Burns and Parker Kelly scored for the Avalanche, and Mackenzie Blackwood made 25 saves.
