If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven’t done anything today- Lou Holtz
You’re probably wondering why there’s a quote from legendary Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz. Well, that’s because, for the first time in program history, the Colorado Buffs will face off against the Fighting Irish this season.
On Wednesday the schedule was released for the 2016 Legends Classic Tournament, and the first team on CU’s schedule is none other than Notre Dame.
The Buffs will be playing The Fighting Irish on Monday, November 21 at 5:00 p.m at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Notre Dame is coming off several impressive seasons under head coach Mike Brey, finishing an incredible 32-6 in 2014 and a more-than-respectable 24-12 last season.
The Fighting Irish will look a bit different this year, though, as they lost two of their key contributors from last year’s team in Demetrius Jackson and Zach Auguste. But CU has also made some changes, as they will be without their most-productive player, Josh Scott, for the first time in four years.
Although Notre Dame is not the powerhouse it once was, it’s a big opportunity for Tad Boyle and his team.
The game will appears on ESPN 2 for those wanting to tune in to this historic event.
Here is a look at the Buffs schedule as they participate in the Legends Classic.
