Sorry CU students, court storming and rushing the field is officially over in the Pac-12.
According to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, Pac-12 schools will be fined, beginning next season, if students storm the field or rush the court after a win. The fines will start at $25K for a first offense and climb to $100K by a third offense.

The new rule is to ensure safety at college basketball and football venues as last year there was a slew of injuries involving people caught up in the mayhem of thousands of students rushing the field or storming the court.
Des Moines Register columnist Randy Peterson broke his leg in December after Iowa State students rushed the court after a win against rival Iowa.
Buffaloes fans will recall the heat their program took after students stormed the court at Coors Events Center following a home win over No. 9 Arizona .
Sean Miller, the Arizona Wildcats head basketball coach said, “It’s going to take a player punching a student in the face for court storming to stop,” when students rushed the court after his team lost to Colorado in February.
By implementing these fines, the Pac-12 has made safety the number one priority in their own conference.
