The Colorado State Rams are on the cusp of bowl eligibility and could find their way into the NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl. In this “NOVA® Home Loans All About You,” Campus Insiders’ Pete Fiutak puts a spotlight on one of the team’s biggest impact players, wide receiver Michael Gallup.
Heading into the final game ever at Hughes Stadium and needing one more win to clinch bowl eligibility, Gallup has amassed 909 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 58 receptions to lead the Rams in both categories. He’s been the top target for head coach Mike Bobo, regardless of who has been at quarterback. In a year that has seen CSU play three different signal callers and deploy a stable of running backs, Gallup has been the one constant that has the Rams again looking to go bowling.
Gallup and the Rams face a tough task in their home finale. Not only is it the final game to ever be played at Hughes Stadium, it’s against Mountain West-Mountain Division leader New Mexico. The Lobos are riding a five-game winning streak this season, but Rams have won each of their last six meetings.
