Andre Snyman, head coach of the Glendale Raptors, has resigned effective October 25, 2016. Snyman informed his staff and team during practice that his decision is based on a desire to pursue business opportunities that will allow him to spend more time with his family.
“I have valued my time as head coach of the Glendale Raptors Rugby Football Club and have enjoyed watching many of the athletes develop into exceptional rugby players during my tenure. It has been an honor working with the entire Glendale Raptors organization and words cannot express my appreciation for the time and effort invested in me and my family.”
Director of Rugby Mark Bullock added, “It has been a pleasure having Andre Snyman as coach of the Raptors since 2011. Since becoming the head coach 4 seasons ago, he has developed a successful program, winning two Pacific Premiership titles and placing 15 players onto the PRO Rugby’s Denver Stampede team during their inaugural season. We will miss Andre’s contribution to the Glendale Raptors Rugby program and wish him good fortune in his next endeavors.”
A national search will begin immediately for Snyman’s replacement. Bullock expects the new head coach to be onsite for the Glendale Raptors Open Combine scheduled for Sunday, November 13th at Infinity Park.
“I’m incredibly disappointed to see Andre go, but this is a wonderful opportunity for him and his family,” said Bullock.
Snyman added, “I wish this great organization continued success in the seasons to come. I know in my heart I am, and always will be, a Raptor.”
