The National Hockey League released the 2025-26 schedule on Wednesday morning and the Colorado Avalanche will drop the puck on the new season on October 7th in Los Angeles against the Kings. This marks the third year in a row that the Avalanche have opened the season on the road and the second time in those three years they have started with the Kings.

The first home game will be two days later on October 9th against the Utah Mammoth. Puck drop at Ball Arena is scheduled for 7:00pm MT.

Among the other notable highlights on the schedule is the extended Olympic break in February 2026 when the Avalanche will play the San Jose Sharks on February 4th at Ball Arena then have a three week break before getting back to action on February 25th in Salt Lake City against the Mammoth. The NHL announced earlier that players would once again be available to play for their home countries at the Winter Games in Italy. This is the first time since 2014 that NHL players will participate in the Games.

Across the entire regular season the Avalanche will play a total of 12 back-to-back games. This includes at least one in each month of the season. Colorado will also have a seven-game home stand in early January. This marks the longest homestand since the 2020-21 season.

Single game tickets will go on sale Friday, July 18th, at 10:00am MT.
