Veteran forward Artem Anisimov has signed a professional tryout with the Avalanche, it was announced on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old joins defenseman Jack Johnson as the two invites to training camp, which is expected to start in late September though no official announcement has been made yet.

Anisimov spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the Ottawa Senators. Once a consistent 40-point producer, he had just two goals and nine points in 19 games. Before the COVID pause in March of 2020, Anisimov had scored 15 goals and accumulated 20 points in 49 games with Ottawa.

Throughout his 771-game NHL career, Animisov has 180 goals and 376 points. His most productive campaign was with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2016-17, where he scored 22 goals and recorded 45 points in 64 games.
Anisimov also has appeared in 43 playoff games, including 20 during a run to the Stanley Cup Finals with the New York Rangers in 2012. He has not played in the postseason since 2017.
