The Anaheim Ducks look for revenge on Sunday night in their rematch with the surging Colorado Avalanche.

Let’s take a look at this Western Division showdown in our Avalanche vs. Ducks Betting Preview with odds, picks and predictions.

Avalanche vs. Ducks Betting Preview

The Colorado Avalanche needed overtime to put away the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night in a 3-2 decision that was settled thanks to a goal from Gabe Landeskog in the extra frame. Avalanche goalie Philip Grubauer returned to the crease after a night off and was stellar, making 36 saves on 38 shots to preserve the victory.

Anaheim wasn’t without chances. The Ducks tied up the game on two different occasions and missed a penalty shot attempt by Hampus Lindholm midway through the third period. The Ducks are still battling offensive inconsistencies as they enter their sixth contest, while the Avalanche have now scored 16 goals over their last four games.

Bets We Like With an Avalanche Win Avalanche

First Period Puck-Line (Avalanche -0.5 Goals +145, DraftKings)

The Avalanche have scored an early goal in all five games they have played thus far, with each of them coming within the first 10 minutes of play (another play that I’ll be looking to wager). This Avs offense is rolling nicely at the moment, and with the Ducks being a slow-starting hockey club, I like Colorado to get on the board early and maintain a lead after 20 minutes of play.

Bets We Like With a Ducks Win

Ryan Getzlaf to Score a Goal Anytime (+440 DraftKings)

The 16-year veteran has been quiet on the scoresheet with only two assists over the first five games of the season. In order for this Ducks offense to generate more opportunities, Getzlaf is going to have to do what he has done for years, make his big body presence felt near the crease and look for rebounds to hammer into the net. Colorado is a sound defensive squad, but I like the 35-year old former All-Star to get his first tally of the year tonight.

Bets We Like Independent of the Outcome

Will There Be A Goal in First 10 Minute of Game (YES -137 DraftKings)

As I mentioned previously, the Avalanche have been fast starters in every contest so far on the season. I’m expecting more of the same here with their offense finding a groove. The Ducks just simply don’t get off to good starts, so for this play to cash in, we will probably have to rely on the Avs to make it happen.

Avalanche vs. Ducks Prediction

Colorado has a big edge on offense in this showdown and despite being on the road all week with a return home on deck for Tuesday, I expect them to end this stretch of road games with a 4-2 win against the Ducks.
