Colorado Avalanche center Matt Duchene joined Afternoon Drive with Eric Goodman and Zach Fogg ahead the Colorado’s opener against the Wild. When asked how you calm fans after a scoring drought in the preseason, Duchene said that the team fans see on the ice tomorrow won’t be the same team that they saw in the preseason. That includes the defense.
The Avs defense has generated the most concern since camp opened. The biggest question surrounding the team is whether or not the offensive minded Avs can play defense. Duchene put that to bed early in the conversation.
“We want to be an offensive team but that doesn’t mean we can’t be good defensively,” said Duchene.
Duchene spoke on that, plus what he expects for himself personally in 2015-16, in the podcast below.
