Our Favorite Picks for Miami-Ole Miss

The College Football Playoff Semifinal round kicks off on Thursday with Miami facing off against Ole Miss. This game pits a pair of teams against the other that simply were not expected to bet here: Miami had to take down Ohio State while Ole Miss bested Georgia for a shot at this matchup.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite picks for today’s game, via Betr:

Mark Fletcher, Miami RB: More than 0.5 rushing + receiving TDs

Nobody has been able to stop Mark Fletcher this past month, and Ole Miss’s defense has not been particularly great against the run this season, ranking 65th in total run defense. I fully expect this one to be a shootout, and if that’s the case it’d be pretty surprising for perhaps the most talented scorer on the field to miss out on the end zone.

Kewan Lacy, Ole Miss RB: More than 79.5 rushing yards

Kewan Lacy finished the regular season with the 3rd most rushing yards in the country. While it’s true that Lacy is facing a tough Miami run defense, I really don’t think it matters. Lacy is a beast and I’m not going to bet against him in a game where the final score could be quite inflated. Especially considering he needs just 80 yards.

Carson Beck, Miami QB: Less 235.5 passing yards

I actually think I like Beck more than most college football fans, but I don’t see how Miami wins this one with big shots downfield, which is what it would take for Beck to hit this total, and not one of his strongsuits. Texas A&M and Ohio State both held Beck under 150 yards passing, and Ole Miss’s secondary is similar in comparison when you look at the numbers, allowing just 194 passing yards per game against SEC competition. Plus, Beck just has not performed well in big moments throughout his career.
