As the NBA season draws ever closer, the final Denver Nuggets preseason game just wrapped up last night, a strong performance from the Nuggets bench unit.
The main starters didn’t play, but the bench unit did, jumping out to a lead vs last season’s NBA champions with great ball movement and execution on both ends of the floor. Surprising games from the Nuggets deep bench unit also gave Denver a well-rounded performance (until the very end).
It’s exciting to see the Nuggets find opportunities to excel without using their main guys. We know what Denver’s starters can do, but the bench unit performed admirably in their final tune-up of the preseason.
On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn goes LIVE from Number 38 to react to the Denver Nuggets preseason finale vs the Oklahoma City Thunder. Peyton Watson and Tim Hardaway Jr. showed out in a game that Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and Christian Braun didn’t play.
Then, Ryan goes over some BOLD Predictions for the Nuggets in the 2025-26 season.
Pickaxe and Roll is the flagship Denver Nuggets show on Mile High Sports, posting every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (unless otherwise specified). Ryan Blackburn breaks down the Nuggets in detail, bringing news, analytics, rotations, and more into a show for hardcore Nuggets fans.
