When something spectacular happens, the first thing everybody wants to do is put it in perspective. So when the Denver Broncos defense put up an absolutely dominant championship performance, the question was bound to rise: Are they the greatest ever?
We’ve asked it. You’ve asked it. Everyone has asked it.
The answer: Maybe.
And that’s probably as close to a definitive answer as we’ll come, because numbers do lie. Even within the Mile High Sports staff, we’ve combed through the numbers, in great depth, and come up with very different conclusions.
The fact of the matter is that it’s hard to compare different eras, different opponents, different games. Whether we’re talking about the ’85 Bears, the ’00 Ravens, the ’13 Seahawks or the ’15 Broncos, all that really matters is that they’re all great, historic units; who’s the best is really just a matter of opinion.
That said, the player’s likely have a more definitive stance on the subject, as evidenced by Bradley Roby on Monday morning.

And much like Kanye, Roby was more than happy to take on all doubters.
The one difference between Roby and Kanye, though, is that Roby was willing to hear arguments from the other side; he just followed that up by defending his stance.
However you see it, the 2015 Denver Broncos defense is clearly a special group, and Roby wants to keep it that way.
If they do this again next year, it’ll be hard to deny that the Denver Broncos have the greatest defense in NFL history.
