The Colorado Rockies needed some help in their bullpen, and they got it on Thursday with the signing of veteran lefty Mike Dunn.
Mike Dunn's deal: Three-year deal for $19 million that could be worth $25M over 4 years with $6M club option in 2020: $6M w/ $1M buyout.

Dunn, an eight-year veteran, has spent the last six seasons in Miami with the Marlins, where he had a 3.59 ERA in 405 appearances.
While Dunn has never been much of a closer — he has just four career saves — there is a clause in his contract which will pay him an additional $1 million if he does develop into the Rockies’ closer.
Mike Dunn can also receive $1 million in performance bonuses each year if he becomes #Rockies closer, and finishes 55 games

Dunn clearly fills a need for Colorado, but it makes a lot of sense for Dunn, too. A New Mexico kid, Dunn has some connection with the Rockies already, and Dunn has close ties with Colorado’s new bench coach, Mike Redmond.
#Rockies Bridich confirmed interest at winter meetings. Dunn is "local," kind of. He's a native of Farmington, N.M. https://t.co/iuevF0Zemf
