Heading into the offseason, with both of their running backs about to face free agency, there were a lot of questions surrounding the Denver Broncos’ backfield.
In the end, it’s same old same old.
After matching the offer sheet C.J. Anderson received from the Miami Dolphins, the Broncos have reportedly just brought back his backfield mate, Ronnie Hillman, for another season, too.

Hillman, 24, has started 15 games for the Broncos during his four-year career, rushing for 1,842 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Both sides agreed to let the running back test the market, but after finding that the interest wasn’t very high, Hillman has decided to return to the city that earned him a Super Bowl championship.
The exact details have yet to be released, but this would lead us to believe that the Broncos will stay away from running backs in the upcoming draft. With newly guaranteed money to Anderson and Hillman, along with the likes of Juwan Thompson and Kapri Bibbs on the practice squad, Denver is likely out of resources to offer another running back.
