With Malik Jackson now in Jacksonville, the Broncos have brought in Jared Crick, who played under Gary Kubiak in Houston, at the defensive end position.

Crick was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 draft by the Houston Texans, where he started 32 games, 31 of which came in the last two seasons. And while there’s no comparing the two as players, Crick and Jackson actually had fairly similar years in 2015, at least statistically.
Crick: 48 total tackles; 2 sacks; 1 forced fumble; 2 fumble recoveries; 2 batted passes
Jackson: 46 total tackles; 5.5 sacks; 2 fumble recoveries; 7 batted passes
And though 32 out of 32 teams would take Malik Jackson over Jared Crick at face value, a few, including the Broncos, might prefer Crick at $2 million a year, compared to Jackson’s $17.1 million.
