After defeating some subpar teams early in the season, the Denver Nuggets finally took down a giant.

On Wednesday night, the Nuggets defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, then undefeated. The Thunder had won every game they played by double digits, and without Jamal Murray or Aaron Gordon, the shorthanded Nuggets showed exactly what they could when playing high effort, high intensity basketball.

Nikola Jokic was tremendous. Russell Westbrook helped Denver get there. Michael Porter Jr., bounced back. Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, and Julian Strawther helped close the deal.

It was a tremendous win and performance by the Nuggets showcasing their talent and potential in a possible playoff preview.

On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn discusses the incredible win from the Denver Nuggets over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Without two starters, the Nuggets fought back and made it work anyway, with Nikola Jokic leading the way. Russell Westbrook also had a good game though he didn’t close again. Denver’s young players, Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, and Julian Strawther, all played a part, with Watson making the game-saving block on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Are the Nuggets back?
