Trevor Story was in the midst of a historic rookie season, with 27 home runs through just 97 games, and this is an absolutely brutal loss for the Rockies.
After rumors swirled that Colorado was looking to be a seller at the deadline, with Carlos Gonzalez and Charlie Blackmon as the top trade targets, the franchise eventually decided to stay pat, largely in thanks to the strong finish to July.
This, though, puts a serious dent in any playoff hopes.
