Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib is giving kids an opportunity he never had

Denver Broncos All-Pro cornerback Aqib Talib consistently shuts down the best wide receivers in the world, so it’s safe to say that he knows a thing or two about the position. May 6-7 at Regis Jesuit High School, Talib and his fellow No Fly Zone members will be sharing their wisdom and insight with aspiring local football players at the first annual No Fly Zone Skills Camp. Talib joined The Final Word on Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7 Sunday to discuss why giving back to area youth is so important to him.

“I love to do it, man. It’s something that I didn’t really have a chance to be a part of when I was little,” Talib said. “It’s just a chance to show I care, man. To give back and give kids the opportunity to do something that I never got the opportunity to do myself.”

Talib, Chris Harris, Darian Stewart and T.J. Ward all partnered with The L.E.W.I.S. agency to bring this unique football camp to metro area youth. Everyone who attends will receive a signed item from one of the No Fly Zone members, but the real value comes from the trade secrets that Talib is willing to share.

“We’re going to give these guys some little pointers that’ll take you a long way,” he said. “It’s stuff that we all heard, and it’s stuff that we still use right now in the NFL. So, it just slows the game down for you a tad bit, and that’s really the name of the game, making everything go slow.”
