The Broncos wrapped up the 2018 NFL Draft by rounding out a solid overall draft class, that targeted areas of need on both sides of the ball. With their final two draft picks, the Broncos added pieces for the offense and defense.

With the 217th overall pick, the Broncos went defense once again, choosing to add depth to the linebacker position. The Broncos did so by selecting Keishawn Bierra from the University of Washington. Bierra was the team’s second pick of the sixth round, as they also selected offensive guard Sam Jones at No. 183.

Bierra will join fellow rookie linebacker Josey Jewell as another linebacker taken by the Broncos this year. The rookie duo will likely play back-up roles to starters Brandon Marshall and Todd Davis.

General manager John Elway tweeted that Bierra will bring depth a depth inside linebacker and special teams.

And finally, with their final pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Broncos selected running back David Williams from Arkansas at No. 226. The Broncos doubled down on the position, also using a third round pick on Royce Freeman.

Much like Freeman, Williams is a big-bodied running back (6′ 1″, 229 lbs) that will complement the quicker backs of Devontae Booker and De’Angelo Henderson. After entering the draft with only two running backs on their active roster, they now have a young, talented and balanced running backs corps to attack the defense with in multiple ways.
