The Denver Broncos have placed second-round tenders on both kicker Brandon McManus and inside linebacker Todd Davis. If they play under the one-year tender, each would receive $2.746 million.
The tenders also give the Broncos the right to match any offer McManus and/or Davis receives from another NFL team in free agency. If they choose not to, that team would be required to surrender a second round pick to the Broncos.
The second-round tenders come a year after the Broncos placed a lower tender on C.J. Anderson last offseason. He then signed a four-year, $18 million offer sheet with the Miami Dolphins, which the Broncos were forced to match. Last season, a second-round tender was worth $2.553 million, a price much lower than what they ended up paying.
Playing in all 16 games last season, Davis racked up 97 tackles, half a sack, three passes defensed and a forced fumbles. McManus also played in every game, making 85.7 percent of his field goals and missing only one extra point.
The Broncos also extended exclusive-rights tenders to eight others: Zaire Anderson, Shaquil Barrett, Kapri Bibbs, James Ferentz, Bennie Fowler, Casey Kreiter, Matt Paradis and Jordan Taylor.
