The 2019 NFL season didn’t go the way the Broncos were hoping, but they did make some of the season’s most impressive catches, thanks in large part to Courtland Sutton.
The NFL just released its list of the top 100 catches of the 2019 season, and the Broncos made the list four times. Let’s take a look at those jaw-dropping grabs.
No. 75: Courtland Sutton goes up-and-over Xavier Rhodes
The Broncos make their first appearance on the list at the 75th slot with this amazing catch by Sutton over Xavier Rhodes.
Courtland Sutton with a phenomenal catch! Broncos up 10-0 over Vikings

That catch helped propel Denver’s offense, led by Brandon Allen, down the field in order to take a 10-0 lead over the Minnesota Vikings. That Week 11 game was one of Sutton’s best of the season.
Did Courtland Sutton just "MOSS" the Vikings?

Not only did he haul in this ludicrous catch, but he also recorded over 100 receiving yards on five catches, 10 rushing yards on two attempts, and found Tim Patrick for a 38-yard pass.
No. 32: Emmanuel Sanders gives Broncos hope late vs. Bears
The Broncos lost to the Bears at the end of their Week 2 matchup, but they came so close to giving Vic Fangio the revenge game he deserved thanks to this catch by Emmanuel Sanders in the back of the end zone.

Sanders followed up his toe-tapping touchdown catch in the back of the endzone by giving the Broncos the lead on the 2-point conversion the very next play.

Unfortunately for the Broncos, the Bears would come back to win on a last-second field goal, thanks to a highly questionable roughing the passer penalty.
No. 17: Courtland Sutton puts Denzel Ward on a poster
Denver’s Week 9 romp over the Cleveland Browns was filled with highlights like Noah Fant stampeding through Cleveland’s secondary. The sweetest of all those immaculate plays though, was when Sutton completely mossed star Browns cornerback Denzel Ward.

Sutton finished the game with 56 yards on five receptions including that touchdown. Surprisingly, that catch wasn’t even Sutton’s best of the season in that corner of the endzone.
No. 2: Courtland Sutton breaks the laws of physics
If Sutton’s best catch of the season was that touchdown grab against the Browns, Broncos fans would have been thrilled, but he somehow managed to top it just a few weeks later in the exact same spot on the field.
Courtland Sutton with one of the best catches I have ever seen…🤭🤭🤭🤭
Btw… that is the rookie Drew Lock’s first TD pass if his career…#Broncos #Chargers #NFL

That catch was also the first touchdown pass of Drew Lock‘s young career, and while it was the highest-ranked catch of the regular season, this catch by Jonnu Smith beat it for the title of “catch of the year.”
Oh my… wow. What a catch by Jonnu Smith. #Titans take the early lead after Lamar’s INT.

It’ll be exciting to see how many entries that duo of Lock and Sutton can combine for on next season’s list. The future sure is bright in Denver.
