In the midst of the current pandemic, a few of us have had those days where we just need a cold beer.
Well, Bud Light might be giving you that beer … for free.
Former Broncos kicker Matt Prater currently holds the record for the longest field goal in NFL history. That record was set in Denver on December 8, 2013 when Prater knocked one through the uprights from 64 yards at the end of the first half.
Former Colts punter Pat McAfee talked about the record and the offer from Bud Light on his show recently. After the comments on McAfee’s show, Bud Light responded on Twitter saying “Screw the record. Whoever kicks the longest field goal this season gets Bud Light for his city, on us.”
Screw the record. @thekidmcmanus vs. @MattPrater_5. Whoever kicks the longest field goal this season gets Bud Light for his city, on us. https://t.co/XjOhhVAKGi

Brandon McManus replaced Matt Prater on the Broncos roster in 2013. Prater had served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. After the suspension, the Broncos released Prater and went with McManus who had been traded to Denver from the Giants.
McManus on Thursday tweeted that he was ready for the challenge.
Let’s do it @MattPrater_5!!! There a lot of thirsty people in Denver #budlight https://t.co/U7iNb5yZv2

To date, McManus’ longest NFL field goal is 57 yards.
